Question from mums and Answers from
Rondi the owner of Healthy Times:
| Question: | When can my baby start eating the Baby Jar Food? | |
Answer:
Babies should always start eating the 1 Fruit Baby Jar Food first to avoid allergies. Babies can start eating baby food at 4 months old. After consuming all the first stage baby jar food then around 7 to 8 months old can start stage 2. If a baby is 9 months old and have never had baby jar food still ask the mums to start off with the 1st stage make sure the baby is not allergic.
| Question: | Do any of your baby jar food have added sugar? | |
Answer:
None of the jars have any added sugar, so diabetics would use their chart for the amount of fruits they can have (for the fruit varieties). The vegetables and dinners without fruit, they can have as much as they like, but I believe diabetics are allowed a certain amount of fruit portions per day.
| Question: | Can adults or elderly eat baby jar foods? | |
Answer:
Any age could eat the foods, even though they are marketed for babies. Many older people with special diets eat our foods. We get many calls from them, especially people with high blood pressure who cannot have sodium.
| Question: | How come the baby jar food can keep for so long? | |
Answer:
The baby food is made from fresh ingredients and then pureed. It is steamed and then jarred and because of the seal on the jar, it keeps for a long period, just as jelly does or other foods that are sealed in a jar. Once the jar is opened it has to be used within 72 hours.
| Question: | How old can my baby eat the Baby Cereals? | |
Answer:
Baby Cereals: Always start with Brown Rice Cereals then Oatmeal then Barley. Can mix Brown Rice with Oatmeal or with Barley. If all not allergic then eat Mixed Grain. Can also mix the cereals with the baby jar food. The normal age of babies eating baby cereal can begin at 4 to 6 months, depending on the baby because all babies develop differently. If the baby has no allergic reaction to brown rice after a week, she can then try the oatmeal or barley for a week. Once she has tried another grain for a week and there is no reaction, she can then mix the two grains if she likes, because her baby is not having any allergic reactions. We recommend the Mixed Grain cereal around 8 to 10 months, again depending on their baby's development. We always tell mums to consult their pediatrician to be sure, as again, all babies develop differently, some faster and some slower. The reason for introducing babies to the grains one at a time for a week or so is to be sure the baby has no reactions. The baby cereals are instant and should not be boiled or cooked. Any temperature liquid but I wouldn't add boiling water. It is completely ready to eat, just add the liquid.
| Question: | Can I have more information about the Baby Cereals? | |
Answer:
The Baby Cereals are good for any age. They are very healthy as they have whole grain and vitamins and minerals for growing. Typically, they are eaten by babies that are 4 months to 15 months, but I know moms whos babies still want the baby cereal and eat it at 2 years, so it depends on the baby. It is just fine for any age that likes it. After the baby is used to the single grain, then the baby can have the Mixed Grain. The Baby Cereals should be rotated so the baby gets used to different grains. Never let the baby continue only on one grain, as they grains should be rotated to prevent allergies. It is wonderful to mix the baby cereal with our baby food. Babies love that. In fact on the back of the Baby Cereal box at the bottom, it states to try mixing the baby cereal with our jar foods. They really do taste great together. The fruits are nice with the grains.
| Question: | Can my baby eat more than 1 baby jar food? | |
Answer:
Yes, if they would like to mix vegetables with the dinners, that is great as well. Most moms give the baby the Dinner and then a vegetable jar as well. It is a great idea to be sure that their baby gets the servings of vegetables recommended for the day.
| Question: | After eating 2 baby jar food can my baby eat 3 baby jar food? Would it be too much? | |
Answer:
It is recommended for that age, for a meal to eat 2 to 3 jars of baby food, depending on the baby's appetite. Some moms give their babies a dinner, a vegy jar and a fruit jar or Pumpkin Pie for dessert.
| Question: | I have put the baby jar food in the fridge for 1 week can my baby still eat the baby jar food? | |
Answer:
No, we do not recommend keeping the baby food longer than 72 hours. This is the general rule for all baby food once the jar has been opened. Most babies will eat the whole jar, but if not, you can keep it in the refridgerator for 72 hours, so you can give it to them the next day if prefer.

The Teddy Puffs are a puff for children with teeth who can eat them as a snack or in a bowl with milk. They are like a Cheerio if you have those you may be able to relate, but Teddy Puffs are all organic, no wheat, soy or dairy which is good for allergies. Just remember that all of the snack items are for babies with all of their teeth, usually 12 months or more.
